Come to Cape May and Enjoy the Harbor Fest this Saturday in Cape at the Nature Centerate: June 15, 2013 from 10am to 5pm on Delaware Avenue in Cape May, NJ
Harbor Fest This Saturday June 15th
Harbor Fest, a celebration of the sea, its culture, its economy and its ecology. To go tot the Cape May Harbor Festival Web Site please click here for more information.
Although Cape May’s harbor will provide the overall setting for Harbor Fest; most land-based activities will be held at or near Cape May’s Nature Center and its distinctive blue roofed Trucksess headquarters. Venues around the harbor will be linked by trolley and water taxi.
Here’s what to expect….
· a street festival with prepared fresh seafood, live entertainment, activities for kids, arts and crafts vendors and educational displays.
· Kayak & canoe regattas in the harbor…a point-to-point navigational challenge, as well as birding programs for boaters and bathers.
· A Coast Guard demonstration, educational programs, junior fishing contest and kayak eco-tours.
· Trolley shuttle service.
Since its inception as a whaling village in the 17th Century, Cape May’s economy and culture has been linked to the sea. But with the promise comes a challenge. Harbor Fest is intended to heighten awareness and appreciation of this fragile resource.
This event is a partnership of the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May, the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC), the Nature Center of Cape May and the Cape May Tourism Commission.
Venues around the harbor will be accessible by trolley.
