Cape May – Lewes Ferry Announces Special Six Week Promotion –
“Local Loyalty” and “Spring Sail!” Promotional Fares Available through May 16, 2013

(Cape May, NJ) Today, Cape May – Lewes Ferry officials announced two new promotional fares: a new “Spring Sail!” fare and a new “Local Loyalty” fare. These special fares are only available for reserved round trip vehicle fares beginning April 1 and continuing through May 16, 2013. Round trip vehicle passage at these discounted rates is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays during the six week promotion.

According to Heath Gehrke, Director of Ferry Operations, the six week promotion is the first of its kind at the Ferry. “I think we’re all tired of this winter weather,” Gehrke said. “With these promotional rates, we’re hoping to help customers “Spring” out of the winter doldrums! We want to reward our loyal local customers, acquaint locals and visitors alike with our new early departures, and really kick start our season.”

The round-trip vehicle discounts are available Tuesday through Thursday for both the “Spring Sail!” and Local Loyalty Fares, but space is limited and reservations are required. While the “Spring Sail!” fare is only available on the 6:30 a.m. departure from Cape May, NJ and 8:00 a.m. departure leaving Lewes, DE; the Local Loyalty Fare is available during all mid-week departures (Tuesday – Thursday). The Local Loyalty Fare is available to residents of Cape May and Sussex counties, and requires a photo ID with an address in these counties at check in.

Heading Out on a Spring Tradition with the Whale Watcher Boat

One of our favorite early Spring traditions in Cape May is taking the first Whale Watcher trip off-shore. The Cape May Whale Watcher boat is open and ready with zero storm damage. Some of the best whale watching in the past has happened in the spring of the year, and they are not letting Sandy slow them down. Also the dolphins start to reappear in April and May can be amazing months for migratory birding.
