The Shore’s Best Time of the Year Early Fall, Family Fun Things to Do in Cape May During the Month of September
September is one of the best time of the year to come down to the shore and enjoy Cape May. The Kids are back to school and the weather remains in the high 80’s with bright sunny days for outdoor activities and cool nights for good sleeping with the windows open to capture the ocean breeze. Cape May offers a number of Family Fun Things to do during September including the Cape May Dragon Boat Festival held at the Cape May Nature Center, The Fall Sidewalk Festival at the Washington Street Mall and the Annual Cape May Food and Wine Celebration kicking off September 14th.
If you in the mood for a brisk off shore trip to enjoy the local whale and dolphin watching, check out the Cape May Whale Watcher departing three times a day from the Miss Chris Marina. Dolphin and Whale Migration is typically at its peak during the fall months and you will most defiantly encounter dolphin sightings aboard your trip.
For the Cape May Dog Lovers during September, you can participate in the Cape May Mutt Strut on September 28th and proudly strut with your fury friend at the Cape May Convention Hall and beach front promenade. Several restaurants offer a dog friendly dining in Cape May for lunch, with outdoor seating, and you can now bring your Dog on the Cape May Ferry or aboard the Cape May Whale Watcher. One of our favorite spots to bring your Dog along to Cape May is Harpoon Henrys on the Bay, which offers outside seating for your well behaved pooch along with close access to the Delaware Bay to take a September stroll with your Dog on the beach in Cape May.
